Direct Provider Communication

Patients should send medical questions to Dr. McNeill over the patient portal. During business hours (Monday - Thursday 8:30a - 5p & Friday 8:30a to noon), portal messages are responded to within 2 hours by Dr. McNeill (not his medical assistant). If you have an urgent need to contact Dr. McNeill during non-business hours (evenings, weekends or holidays) please call 828-772-8673, leave a message, and Dr. McNeill will return your call shortly. This is not a nurse triage phone line but direct access to Dr. McNeill for medical urgencies only. It is not to be used for refill requests.

After Hours Care

Should you need care in the evening or weekends when Trillium Family is closed, TFM has a co-management agreement with Sisters of Mercy Urgent Care. This means they remain available to our patients after hours and will share information with us regarding your visit. This allows you to still have access to care when TFM is closed but keeps us in the know should you require a visit after hours. We ask that you inform Sisters of Mercy upon arrival that you are a patient of TFM and want the information regarding your visit sent to us. Click here for their hours and locations.

Trillium Family Medicine is excited to offer patients usage of a secure Patient Portal to communicate with our office easily and safely through the Internet.

Using the Patient Portal, at your convenience day or night, you can:

  • Book and keep track of appointments
  • Access and view lab results
  • Request prescription refills
  • View your personal health record
  • View billing statements
  • Update demographic information
  • Exchange messages with Dr. McNeill (response within 1-2 hours during office hours)
  • NEW!  TeleHealth / eVisit - eVisits can be a convenient, safe way to address minor illness without having to come to the office. Ideal complaints for eVisits can include colds, flu, sore throat, bladder infections, and poison ivy. To initiate an electronic visit, go to questionnaires on the left side of the portal and click on web interview. Type in your concern (such as “bladder infection”). Answer all the questions. Dr. McNeill will review your answers on the portal within 2 business hours and respond. If your insurance does not cover this service, the charge is $35. eVisits are not responded to after hours. Web interviews associated with office visits generate no charge.

At your first visit to our office, you will be given the opportunity to enroll in the portal and receive a secure User ID and password. Or you can Register online.

At Trillium Family Medicine we believe you should not have to negotiate the front office or a complicated phone tree to communicate with your doctor. You should not have to wait on hold just to get the first available appointment that may be weeks away.  By using the latest technology in the form of a secure patient portal, you can get what you need quickly by securely messaging me, including prescription refill requests, lab requests and routine questions.
