During business hours (Monday - Thursday 8:30a - 5p & Friday 8:30a to noon), portal messages are responded to within 2 hours. If you have an urgent need to contact Dr. McNeill during non-business hours (evenings, weekends or holidays) please call 828-772-8673, leave a message, and Dr. McNeill will return your call shortly.

S. Mark McNeill, M.D.

Dr. McNeill grew up in Raeford, NC.  After graduating from Appalachian State University, he received his M.D. from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.  He completed his residency in Family Medicine at MAHEC in Asheville.  After residency, he worked as a General Practitioner for a year in New Zealand.  He then settled back in the Asheville area with his wife, Shelley, to practice Family Medicine.

He is board certified in Family Medicine and enjoys patients of all ages.  His special interests include sports medicine, geriatrics, and health information technology.  In his free time, Dr. McNeill enjoys long distance running, birding, tennis, and cooking.



Julie Midkiff, PA-C

Julie grew up near Welcome, NC, and received her Physician Assistant degree from University of Iowa and is board-certified. She worked in family practice offices in Charlottesville, VA and Kentucky before settling in Black Mountain with her husband and two energetic boys. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family. She will be helping out Trillium when Dr. McNeill needs a vacation!
